A canyon in the forest
Tour description
A secluded canyon in the forest and this only in the nearby Zurich Oberland? Yes, there is! Nowhere else in Switzerland can you find as many ravines as in the geologically favoured Töss Valley. After a short post bus ride, the varied circular hike starts at the starting point in Freckmünd. After an unspectacular start, the route becomes more and more exciting before you walk through a lonely ravine towards Schreizen Giessen, master a few steps and a short, narrow ascent and suddenly find yourself in front of a breathtaking, mighty Nagelfluh boiler. The adventurous path then leads 150 metres along the semicircular crevice, while above it a pouring water falls over the 20-metre-high rock face. A fascinating natural spectacle. By the way: On the further interesting route we pass a naturist area. On the second half there is then the possibility of quenching your thirst with a small detour to the idyllic Sitzberg in the Restaurant Sternen. According to the motto: earlier into the weekend! An eventful day awaits the attendees.
