You have to have been on this spectacular peak! On the one hand, because the view down to Lake Walen 1600 m below feels majestic, and on the other hand, because the view from Frümsel to the other six Churfirsten peaks - as the photos reveal - is indeed unique.

The hiking day already starts in a pleasantly adventurous way, as we take the convertible wooden box railway from Starkenbach and save ourselves the first 600 metres in altitude. What a breezy, yet very safe undertaking. We can definitely use this strength, which we don't yet need, to good effect later on the way to the rather steep summit.

Arriving at the top station, we are amazed by the beautiful Toggenburg mountain flora and the sight of the Churfirsten peaks motivates us even more. On the starting quarter, we take time to visit a prehistoric cave - the famous Wildmannlisloch - and learn about the history of this magical place. The headlamp can definitely be helpful for the short visit.

The path to the Frümsel, probably the steepest but not the longest Churfirsten peak, feels very pleasant at first and is not difficult over lush alpine meadows and lonely mats. However, the last 300 metres of altitude on a narrow path up to the Frümsel are quite challenging - those who have always sought this special challenge will be fully compensated here. The path is not dangerous anywhere in dry conditions, a wire-rope secured spot helps us over a step. And the reward at the summit is simply breathtakingly beautiful. You won't soon forget this panoramic view. The same, entertaining path leads back down again - poles are certainly highly recommended on this tour. This hike is by no means long, but highly exciting.
