ON LONELY TRAILS AND IN SIMPLE HUTS

Tour description

We will sleep in unserviced Ticino huts where, in addition to spaghetti, pellati and tonno, there is usually a cold beer or a bottle of Merlot in the cellar. But we will cook ourselves.
From Brione in the Verzasca Valley we go to the Capanna Osola, an idyll at the back of the Val d'Osura. On the second day, we climb to the Rifugio Sambucco and up to Monte Zucchero. On the third day, we can choose between two variants and finally spend the night at the beautifully renovated Alpe Spluga high above the Maggia Valley. On the last day we cross the picturesque Passo dei Due Laghi, of course with a swim in the mountain lakes. Finally, there is the long, steep descent over 1,500 metres in altitude and mostly in the forest to Giumaglio - and if you like, you can enjoy a final swim in the Maggia at the gorge of Ponte Brolla.
The stages are not long, but some are steep. It is high summer and the nights are mild. There is time for a bath and relaxing. Ready for an adventure where the daily programme is not carved in granite?
