Canceled due to bad weather: The only mountain trail in Thurgau
Tour description
When there is still snow in the Alps and it is still a little early for hiking in the mountains this season, there is a breezy pleasure right on our doorstep that can fulfill the promise of charming ridge hiking, as we take on the only mountain trail (red-white-red) in Thurgau as an after-work hike.
We start our tour in the Thurgau spa town of Dussnang, close to the cantonal border with Zurich. We soon climb over gnarled root paths and loose stones, marvel at the diversity of nature and enjoy the fresh spring evening in the clear air. The two-kilometre-long ridge section is great fun and is easy to master in dry conditions, but requires concentration and surefootedness. A highly attractive evening hike and also very varied with plenty of forest and narrow paths. «Mountain-friendly» hiking in Thurgau – who would have thought it!
Note: The pictures are from the last hike in the fall – a hike in the spring would of course be just as atmospheric. By the way, the moon is full on the evening of April 24 – let us be enchanted by the special atmosphere.
