Glarus sagas 2 - Klöntal valley
Tour description
This hike is the second part of a series of five themed hikes in May 2024 that follow the Glarus legends collected by Kaspar Freuler and Fridolin Hauser and published in 1952. On this hike on 9 May, we take the Postbus up to Lake Klöntal, follow its right bank to Vorauen and then climb up through the Timmerwald forest to Richisau. There we can stop for a bite to eat and later take the postbus back to Ziegelbrücke.
Each of the five hikes stands for itself. They do not follow an "inner logic", but rather scenically varied paths along which interesting natural phenomena and legendary motifs can be discovered and told. These spring hikes are good preparation for longer tours and open up the Glarus valleys just outside Zurich.
