Die berühmteste Geschichte um einen Markstein, hat sich zwischen den Urnern und Glarnern um die Kantonsgrenze abgespielt... wir wandern im Mai um Braunwald.

Tour description

This hike is the third part of a series of five themed hikes in May 2024 that follow the Glarus legends collected by Kaspar Freuler and Fridolin Hauser and published in 1952. On this hike on 12 May, we take the Postbus to Schwändi, climb up the left side of the valley to Guppenseli and Oberblegisee. We then hike along the high-level trail to Braunwald and take the funicular railway down to Linthal.

Each of the five hikes stands for itself. They do not follow an "inner logic", but rather scenically varied paths along which interesting natural phenomena and legendary motifs can be discovered and told. These spring hikes are good preparation for longer tours and open up the Glarus valleys just outside Zurich.
